Movies at the Library! Not only does the Library have over 1,000 DVDs to borrow, but we are also showing movies at the Library…
Summer Movie Nights! (Wednesdays at 6:45 pm):
Some
movies just cry out for a bigger screen – and the library has heard
their cry! Come on Wednesday evenings in August to enjoy all the
excitement of action and other “big” pictures in the library’s
air-conditioned comfort - we’ll even supply the popcorn! Because
sometimes size does matter. Contact the library (or 613-269-3326) for film details.
And the library’s regular Movie Club continues to meet once a month for a film & discussion. New members welcome! Next Movie Club: Thurs, Aug 27 at 2:00 pm.
The Library’s summer activities for kids continues in August!
TD Summer Reading Club!:
The
library is running the TD Summer Reading Club to encourage reading for
kids of all ages! If you’re not involved yet, it’s not too late! Get a
ticket our Prize Draw for each book read.
We also have activities for school-aged kids on Thursday afternoons:
- K - Gr 3 kids meet from 2:00 to 3:00 pm
- then Gr 4 + meet from 3:00 until 4:00(ish).
Youth Group (Sat, August 15, 1:00 pm):
Our Youth Group (for ages 10-14) continues to meet this summer to make stuff and have fun.
LEGO Club (Saturdays, 10 - 12 noon):
Building with LEGO is another great way to play, and our LEGO Club continues on Saturday mornings between 10 and noon.
StoryTime (Fridays, 10ish):
StoryTime
for ages 6 & under (and a parent/caregiver) continues through
the summer! It’s a fun way to prepare for starting school this fall.

Beat the heat at the Library's (air-conditioned) Movie Club!
July's movie will be: "Bon Cop, Bad Cop" on Thurs, July 30 at 2:00 pm.
Movie Club features fine films (and popcorn) followed by tea and
discussion. The group meets monthly.
Youth Group (for ages 10-14) will meet on Sat, July 25 at 1:00 pm at the Library. Come and join our Maker Space!

Interested in winning a
ribbon in the Merrickville and District Agricultural Fair?
Kids can come to the Library on Sat, July 25 at 10:30 am to make something
from the Fair’s list of arts & crafts to enter as an exhibit.
Rose Lamingham from the Fair Committee will be there to get you started. There are a variety of crafts for pre-schoolers to age 16. Supplies
provided.
Join our Mac user group with Bob Gray for tips on mastering your Mac. Next meeting is Sat, July 18 at 10:30 at the Library.
French
Club for kids is back!
The Club meets Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm in July.
Play games and do fun activities
(games, LEGO, crafts, whatever) while speaking French. Kids can also
check out French books as part of the Summer Reading Club.
