Programs for Adults
Smart Start to School (Mon., Sept. 10, 7:00 pm): Did you know that September is the official 'Breakfast for Learning' month? Start your child off to a healthy and productive school year with tips and tricks presented by Naturopathic Doctor Katie Weststrate. Optimized nutrition geared to fuel growing brains and bodies!

Off the Shelf! (Mon., Sept. 17, 7:00 pm): Our popular "Stories for Grown-ups" program is back for a new season. Join us as members of Theatre Night in Merrickville read short stories, poetry & more.

Computer Basics (Thurs, Sept. 20, 10:30 am): Are you clueless about the Internet? It's not too late. Join John Harris for an easy, non-threatening introduction to some Internet basics at the library. Learn how to get your own email account, view and send photos, and some basics of finding information on the Internet. Limited space - call 613-269-3326 to register.

Library Book Clubs: The library has 2 books clubs - one meeting the 2nd Tuesday of the month (at 10 am), and one on the last Monday of the month (at 6:45 pm). If you are interested in joining one of our clubs, or starting up a new one, contact the library.

Children's Programs
StoryTime is Back!: Bring your child (6 & under) to the library for StoryTime Friday mornings at 10:00(ish). Our drop-in StoryTime is a great way to develop your child’s early literacy and group interaction skills in a fun and relaxed setting. StoryTime uses the Every Child Ready To Read pre-literacy programming. Current child development research has identified 6 key skills for toddlers and preschoolers that will help them to become successful readers in school. StoryTime helps build these skills using stories related to a theme, songs, rhymes & rhythm instruments, and a simple craft. New StoryTimers are always welcome! September’s themes are: Colours, Apples, Firefighters, and Fall. The first Friday of the month (Sept. 7) is geared to toddlers.

LEGO Club (Sat. Sept. 8 & 29, 1:00pm): Our popular LEGO Club is back for fall. Join us for a brick-filled hour of building fun for ages 5-12.

"Il Etait Une Fois…" (Sat. Sept. 15, 1:00pm): Join us on for another French StoryTime with Denise Vanopdenbosch.

Juice Jam (Sat. Sept. 22, 1:00pm): Music program with Polly Beach for ages 9 & under. Join us for songs, rhythm instruments, lots of audience participation, & a snack.
