@ your Library - in February!

There's a lot going on at the library in February for adults and kids.

"Il Etait Une Fois…" (Sat. Feb. 2 at 1:30 pm): Our French StoryTime for ages 8 & under is back with Alexandra Mathewson reading some great Winter stories.

Off the Shelf! (Mon., Feb. 11, 7:00 pm):  Don't miss Theatre Night in Merrickville's new season of Off the Shelf for adult listeners, with short stories and other literary tidbits sure to surprise and delight.  Light refreshments will be available. There is no charge, but donations are appreciated.

Wellness Talk: Heart Health (Thurs. Feb. 14, 2:00 pm):  Did you know February is Heart Health Month? According to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, "heart disease and stroke take 1 in 3 Canadians before their time and it is the #1 killer of women".  This Valentine's Day find out what you can do to take care of your own heart health (and that of your loved ones) and reduce your risk, at this month's free Health & Wellness Talk with Naturopathic Doctor Katie Weststrate.

Online Banking & Identity Theft Info Seminar (Tues. Feb. 19, 2:00 pm): Online banking is convenient, but it's important to know how to do it securely and avoid associated risks such as identity theft.  Join an RBC representative for an informative seminar on how to do your online banking safely and protect your identity.

Computer Basics: Laptops (Thurs. Feb. 21, starting at 10:30 am):  Having trouble with that new Windows 7 laptop you got for Christmas?  John Harris is here to help.  Contact the library to book a half hour, one-on-one help session for you and your laptop.  Registration is required.

Tax Tips for Seniors (Sat. Feb. 23, 10:30 am):  This information seminar, by John Harris CMC, will cover most of the important tax-related issues that will affect people who are 64+ including deductions, credits, RRSS, the CPP, Pension Income splitting, and the Disability Amount. The presentation will be followed by a Question and Answer period.

LEGO Club: continues to run on Saturdays at 1:00 pm in February!  Join us for brick-building fun for ages 5 -12.

StoryTime (Fridays, 10(ish)): StoryTime continues to run Friday mornings at 10(ish).  The 1st Friday of the month is extra toddler-friendly.

Contact the Library (or 613-269-3326) to register or for more info.
