March Activities for Kids & Adults!

March Activities @ your Library: 
The library has lots of programs this month for kids and adults!

Children's Programs:

Take a (March) Break at the Library:  
Please contact the library to register for our March Break activities.

LEGO Club: 
LEGO Club continues on Saturdays at 1:00 pm in March.  Come build with us on Mar. 9 and your creation will be on display for March Break!  Ages 5 - 12.

Play Around! (Tues, Mar. 12, 1:30 pm): 
Join us as we build - and play - a mini-golf course in the library!  Learn about other games you can make!  Fun for kids aged 5-12.

Learn to Knit! (Tues. Mar. 12, 1:30-3:00 pm): 
The Knitting Club is offering beginning instruction and help to aspiring knitters - kids or adults (needles & wool available).

Brenda Carter Memorial Art Workshop for Kids (Thurs., Mar. 14 at 1:30 pm): 
Join Debbie Alexander to create a Fabric Art Collage (no sewing).  Ages 6 - 16. 

Juice Jam (Sat., Mar.16, 10:30 am):  
Join us for an Easter-themed music program with simple songs & rhymes, rhythm instruments, lots of audience participation, and a snack!   Juice Jam is fun for ages 7 & under (& a parent).

StoryTime: 
Join us Fridays at 10(ish) for stories, songs & rhymes and a simple craft.  The 1st Friday of the month is extra toddler-friendly.  New StoryTimers are always welcome.  StoryTime will be cancelled Mar. 29 for Good Friday.

Museum Passes:
A museum visit is a great March Break family activity!  The library lends free family passes to several Ottawa museums.  Contact the library for more information.

Adult Programs:

Off the Shelf! (Mon., Mar. 18, 7:00 pm): 
Theatre Night in Merrickville's Off the Shelf with short stories and other literary tidbits for adult listeners continues to delight audiences.  Don't miss this month's readings!  Light refreshments available. There is no charge, but donations are appreciated. 

Wills and Power of Attorney Info Seminar (Tues. Mar. 19, 2:00 pm):
Wills and power of attorney are something we all need, but many of us put off thinking about.  Join Leonard Max (from Max Law) for an informative seminar on these important subjects.  

Income Tax Basics (Sat. Mar. 23, 10:30 am): 
Confused about filing your taxes?  This one hour seminar with John Harris, CMC, will cover the basics of income and deductions.  For all ages.

Wellness Talk: Wellness for Women (Thurs. Mar. 28, 2:00 pm): 
In honour of International Women's Day, we are focusing on women's health at this month's Health & Wellness Talk with Naturopathic Doctor Katie Weststrate.  Join us for health and nutrition tips for women of all ages, stages, shapes and sizes!
