Library Events in April!

This month at the Library:  Gardening Tips, Books with Babies, Youth Group Yoga, our Mac User Group, Off the Shelf, StoryTime and more!
Contact the Library (or 613-269-3326) for more info.

Adult Programs:

Books with Babies (Tuesdays to Apr. 21, 10:30 am):
Parents with their babies (birth to 12 months) are invited to a fun, interactive story time program that also provides parent education on language development and the importance of reading with your child(ren) from birth.
This is a free program presented by an Early Literacy Specialist from the Ontario Early Years Centre.

Gardening Tips (Sat. Apr. 11, 10:30 am):

Need a little help developing your green thumb?  Members of the MaD (Merrickville and District) Gardeners will be at the Library to share local gardening tips, answer questions, and help with your gardening dilemmas.

Mac User Group (Sat. Apr. 18, 10:30 am):
Join our Mac user group with Bob Gray for tips on mastering your Mac.

Off the Shelf! (Mon, Apr. 20, 7:00 pm):
Off the Shelf continues to delight audiences with short stories and other literary gems for adult listeners.  Expect the unexpected!

Kids’ Programs:

Youth Group (Saturdays, 1:00 pm - cancelled Apr. 4):
The library’s new youth group, for kids aged 10-14, continues after Easter in April.  Come do fun stuff and hang out with friends!
Sat, Apr. 18 – Yoga!  The youth group will get in touch with their inner pretzel at this yoga session by Katie Weststrate of Ahimsa Naturopathic

StoryTime (Fridays at 10:00ish - cancelled Apr. 3):

Is your child starting school in the fall?  Our weekly StoryTime is an excellent way to help your child get ready - by participating in group activities, practicing listening and pre-literacy skills, and developing enthusiasm for books.
The library also has concept books (letters, numbers, colours, shapes, etc.) and books with rhyme, repetition, phonics activities, and more to encourage language skills and early learning.  Research shows that early literacy programs improve school readiness.
Join us Fridays at 10(ish) for stories, songs & rhymes and a simple craft.  New StoryTimers are always welcome.

LEGO Club (Saturdays from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon):
Our LEGO Club drop-in continues in April.
